A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge has decided that singer Britney Spears should remain under conservatorship, at least for now.

Her father, James Spears, was named co-conservator of his daughter’s estate in 2008 after she was twice hospitalized in a psychiatric facility.

Conservatorships are granted for people deemed unable to take care of themselves or their affairs.

Under the original conservatorship plan approved that year, Spears’ father may restrict and limit visitors, retain caretakers and security guards and access all of her medical records.

On Thursday, Judge Reva A. Goetz held a closed session with Spears and her father, according to City News Service. They emerged with no changes in the order, with Goetz saying they had a “very nice conversation,” according to the wire service.

ORLAND PARK, Ill. (CBS/WBBM/AP) The shooting death of the mother of Comcast SportsNet reporter Sarah Kustok and former Northwestern University quarterback Zak Kustok has been ruled a homicide by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy report said 58-year-old Anita Kustok, of Orland Park, was pronounced dead Wednesday at Palos Community Hospital from a gunshot wound to the head.

Police are releasing few details about the case and Orland Park Police Cmdr. John Keating would not say where the shooting occurred.

Police say the 58-year-old Kustok was a teacher at Central Elementary School in Riverside.

“She is a beautiful person with a beautiful heart,” said the school’s principal Dr. Janice Limperis to the Chicago Sun-Times. “If anyone had a problem, she would find a positive way to look at it. We are devastated here. Her students are inconsolable. It’s like losing a family member.”

Her son, Zak, led Northwestern to the Big Ten fotball title in 2000, while daughter Sarah is a Comcast SportsNet reporter.

Greg Giraldo had been in a coma for five days when his family ultimately made the decision to end the comedian’s life … TMZ has learned.

Sources close to the situation tell us Greg had remained in a coma since he overdosed last weekend in New Jersey.

We’re told doctors weren’t able to resuscitate him, and Greg’s family decided to take him off life support yesterday.

Harford and Baltimore, yesterday, received heavy rain that disturbed daily activities in the counties. More rain is expected today, due to which public schools have been closed.

The weather condition in Harford County is extremely bad and is resulting in delays and closings of various facilities including Harford County public schools.

All high schools will be closed by 11 am, middle schools at noon and elementary schools at 1 pm.

Harford County public schools say that they are closing down due to “deteriorating weather conditions”.

Closing of public schools in Harford County was announced after the announcement of road closings by the police.

Between 2 to 4 inches of rain was caused overnight by Tropical Storm Nicole. It is not confirmed as to for how long Harford County public schools will remain closed. However, weather situation in Harford County is likely to stay the same for at least today.
