Is Mariah Carey Pregnant or Just Getting Fat? – The News of Today

Mariah Carey Pregnant or Fat?

Is Mariah Carey Pregnant or Fat?

There have been rumors that Mariah Carey is pregnant for several month now, but a video from a concert in Singapore this past Saturday makes one really wonder.

If you watch the video below of the 40-year-old Carey, you will see that she has definitely put on some weight, even through her baggy clothing. The question remains though, “Is she pregnant or just getting fat?”

Carey is known for being superstitious, thus she may not want to announce a pregnancy or let anyone know that she is expecting a baby.

In August she released a statement saying, “I appreciate everyone’s well wishes, but I am very superstitious. When the time is right, everyone will know.”

It seems rather odd to make a statement like this if you are not really pregnant. Anyhow, take a moment to watch the video below where Carey falls on stage. Take special notice of her belly.

What do you think? Is Mariah Carey Pregnant or just gaining some fat around her mid-section?

About Silver Oak Cellars
Entrepreneur Raymond Twomey Duncan first visited the Napa Valley in the late 1960s and began purchasing orchards, pastures and vineyards throughout the Napa and Alexander Valleys. In 1972, Duncan approached Justin Meyer, an experienced wine maker to help plant and manage the vineyards. Duncan and Meyer had a bold vision for producing a single wine—Cabernet Sauvignon. Silver Oak’s Alexander Valley vineyards produced the first Cabernet Sauvignon harvest later that year.

Meyer left the Silver Oak brand in 2001, but Duncan and his family continue to lead SilverOak, carrying forward the vision established more than 35 years ago. To learn more, visit www.silveroak.com

Friend on Greg Giraldo: “Keep Him in Your Prayers”

“Keep him in your prayers.”

That’s the word from a friend of Greg Giraldo, who tell E! News that the Last Comic Standing  star is fighting for his life following a reported accidental drug overdose over the weekend.

The funnyman, known also for his biting rants on Comedy Central’s roasts and appearances on Howard Stern‘s radio show, was scheduled to perform at the Stress Factory Saturday night as part of four-night engagement at the New Brunswick, N.J., comedy club. Instead, he was found unconscious by paramedics at the nearby Hyatt Regency.

Emergency workers managed to resuscitate him, the source tells E! News, and then at about 8:30 p.m., transported him by ambulance to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.

The comic has been clean and sober for several years now and had been booked to appear Saturday afternoon at the New York Recovery Rally, an event for recovering substance abusers.

Meanwhile, a fellow comic, who is friendly with Giraldo and has performed at the Comedy Cellar in New York with him, said Giraldo had recently split with his wife, Maryann Giraldo. They have three children together.

There has been no immediate word from Giraldo’s family. A representative for the comic has declined to comment.

AirTran sale brings remarkable comeback to close

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

A little over seven years ago, AirTran Airways’ chief executive stood before cheering employees and Atlanta’s mayor to do a little chest-thumping.

John Spink, AJC 100927 Atlanta: It was business as usual for AirTran travelers at the AirTran ticket counter at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport Monday, Sept. 27, 2009 as news of Southwest Airlines buying AirTran Airways for .4 billion became known. Tad Hutchinson, a spokesman for Orlando-based AirTran, said Monday the acquisition would make Atlanta the fourth largest airport in the Southwest network, and they intend to grow. Southwest said the deal includes significant opportunities to and from Atlanta, the busiest airport in the U.S. and the largest domestic market we do not serve. Southwests service in Atlanta can potentially stimulate more than 2 million new passengers and more than 0 million in consumer savings annually, Southwest said, citing an economic analysis by Campbell-Hill Aviation Group LLP. AirTran chief executive Bob Fornaro said in a written statement that the deal with Southwest will give AirTran opportunities to grow both professionally as individuals and as a group, in ways that simply would not be possible without this agreement. Under the deal, AirTran and Southwest would operate as independent companies until the deal closes, then Fornaro would continue work on the integration of the two companies. Even as Delta Air Lines and other competitors were still struggling with the post-9/11 recession, then-CEO Joe Leonard announced that AirTran was ordering potentially more than 100 new jets in a bid to supercharge its growth.

“We think we can put our business model where we want it, and there’s not much our competitors can do about it,” said Leonard.

Well, except one competitor, as it turns out.

The .4 billion deal Southwest Airlines announced Monday to acquire AirTran is largely aimed at rescuing both carriers from dwindling growth opportunities without igniting a damaging fare war, say some industry analysts.

“One issue now that both companies are facing is that growth opportunities in the domestic market are more limited than they might have at one time appeared,” said Standard & Poors credit analyst Philip Baggaley.

The deal is another big course correction in the up-and-down history of AirTran.

The Orlando-based discount carrier was re-incarnated from Atlanta-based Valu-Jet. The latter airline’s fortunes had skyrocketed after it was launched in 1993 with a couple of DC-9s. But after three years of expansion it was grounded by federal regulators after one of its jets plunged into the Everglades in 1996, killing all on board.

After resuming operations later that year, ValuJet wobbled on for several months before acquiring a small Orlando-based carrier named AirTran and taking its name.

It continued to struggle financially until the arrival in 1999 of Leonard and AirTran’s current CEO, Bob Fornaro. Together they orchestrated AirTran’s resurgence.

Soon after recruiting Fornaro, Leonard’s team returned AirTran to profits and began expanding the carrier by adding new routes as Delta Air Lines and other large competitors retrenched during hard times that followed 9/11.

AirTran’s announced plan in 2003 to buy more than 100 jets, for instance, would have doubled its fleet in a few years and allowed it to fly across North America and into Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Southwest, similarly, had announced new jet orders and growth plans as old-line carriers like Delta, United, Northwest and US Airways struggled with high costs and stagnating revenues that would eventually land all of them in bankruptcy court.

But both carriers throttled back on growth plans in the wake of soaring fuel costs followed by the deep recession in late 2007.

AirTran sold jets and delayed deliveries of new ones in 2008; it doesn’t plan to add to its fleet until 2011.

With jet fuel prices that spiked at a barrel in recent years, “that’s a different world for growth airlines,” said airline analyst Michael Derchin, with CRT Capital Group in Stamford, Conn.

Until Monday’s deal announcement sent shares soaring, AirTran’s stock had stalled at about a share, about 70 percent below its 2006 peak.

For both Southwest and AirTran, the deal gives them new places to fly by linking up their route networks, analysts said.

“There are a whole lot of cities that AirTran serves that Southwest doesn’t serve and vice versa,” he said. The proposed merger adds “hundreds” of potential new routes, said Derchin, that should revive the carriers’ growth, which had dropped from perhaps 15 percent a year in recent years to about 5 percent in AirTran’s case.

Much of that growth will likely occur as Southwest takes advantage of AirTran’s key Atlanta hub and routes to the Caribbean and other short-hop international destinations, said Baggaley.

He said the merger also will be good news for most of AirTran’s roughly 6,000 employees in Atlanta, who are likely to see higher pay and better job stability at financially stronger Southwest.

For them, Southwest is “an island of stability,” he said.

Ex-Air Force Reasearcher: UFOs Eyeing Nuclear Weapons Facilities

Posted By –  CNN

Last Updated On:  9/27/2010 5:27:16 PM

WASHINGTON, DC (CNN) – Speaking at the National Press Club on Monday, former members of the U.S. Air Force said UFOs may exist and aliens could be trying to deliver messages to humans.

They believe that the aliens took an interest in the nuclear arms race that began at the end of World War II.

Researcher Robert Hastings was among those who took to the podium.

“Regarding the missile shut-down incidents, my opinion, their opinion, is that whoever are aboard this craft are sending a signal to both Washington and Moscow, among others, that we are playing with fire,” Hastings said.

Hastings added that the possession and threatened use of nuclear weapons “threatens the human race and the integrity of the planetary environment.”

Hastings is the author of “UFOs and Nukes: Extraordinary Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites.”
