Tiger Woods Divorce Settlement With Elin Nordegren Finalized – Sports Newscaster
Published: August 24, 2010
PGA world number one Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren are now officially divorced. It is a fitting end to a six-year marriage marred by scandals relating to Woods’ infidelity that has caused his golfing career to spiral down unexpectedly. The former couple have agreed to share parental duties for their two children, Sam Alexis and Charlie Axel.
Elin is set to receive a substantial amount that can run up to seven figures but far less than earlier reported at 0 million. She is also prohibited from taking any actions that can further damage Woods’ brand marketability. Woods is currently the highest paid athlete according to Sports Illustrated magazine.
With the divorce settlement behind him, Tiger Woods should now be able to concentrate on his game. He has not won a major this year and is coming off his worst performance in years. At Firestone in Akron, Ohio, Woods fired an 18-over par that was quite unexpected of the world’s best golfer.
This is probably the time for Woods to pick up the pieces and get back to his winning ways. At 34, he still has a shot at surpassing Jack Nicklaus’ record.
