I’m going in April, and I would love names of shops, places to eat, cool things to see, convenient things to pack, etc. This will be my first time going.

Make sure & pack sunscreen. You have to visit the Vatican.
Right before the Vatican there’s a bar that has great drinks. The museums are fantastic. I recommend that you just get a bus or taxi and stop off at places that look interesting, you know, act like a real tourist. Hope I helped. Enjoy your trip and stay safe!

You’re going to love Rome so much and I’m happy you’re going! The weather won’t be hot, but it won’t be cold either. I know how it feels to be traveling to Rome for the first time so here’s some advice. I apologize in advance for how long it is:

1. SHOPPING:
-you must see the flagship stores for everyone’s favorite Italian designers: Gucci, Fendi, Prada, etc. They are located on Via Gran Corso very close to a famous Roman landmark, the Spanish steps.
-Rome also has many boutiques that are amazing.
-one of the biggest malls in all Europe is located in Rome. You can take the metro to EUR Fermi, the modern area in Rome, and from there, you can catch the bus to the mall.

2. COOL THINGS TO SEE:
- Trevi Fountain
- Piazza Navona
- St. Peter’s Basilica…even if you’re not religious, try to go to a Mass held by the Pope. Michelangelo’s Pieta is also here. Make sure you get to the top of the dome for the greatest view from above. I’m from New York and the few from there tops anything I’ve ever seen
- Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel
- EUR…most modern area in Rome
- Trasteverde: section with Rome’s best nightlife
- Spanish steps
- try to catch an opera
- Colosseum and Roman Forum
- Italian soccer game
- the second largest ICE bar in the world…it’s just called ICE BAR and it’s close to the Colosseum
- the Pantheon

3. PLACES TO EAT:
- Zaza Pizzeria
- Gelato, especially from a home-made gelateria
- in Piazza Risorgiamento, you can find tons of restaurants
- Piazza Navona also has a great one. I don’t remember the name, but it’s the first on the left as you enter

4. PLACES TO VISIT OUTSIDE OF ROME FOR A DAY TRIP:
- Sorrento, Pompeii, and Capri: you have to take the train from Rome to Naples and then Naples to Sorrento. This was my favorite place in Italy because Pompeii and Sorrento are beautiful and Capri is breathtaking. Do the grotto sea tour; AMAZING
- Florence
- Venice

5. THINGS TO PACK
- sunblock
- light clothing
- a light jacket
- comfy shoes
- party dress and stilettos
- camera

I hope you have a safe and enjoyable trip. If you need info, please don’t hesitate to email me. Take care and hope this helps!
